presents music, accompanied by texts which bring both interesting information and
humor into the program. On this CD, Amadeus Brass introduces itself, making use of a
wide spectrum of composers and musical styles (Bach, Mussorgsky, Strauss, Debussy,

Brass music / “Not just noise” is one way to describe the Amadeus Brass Quintett concert in the Minoritenkloster in Tulln. Although the five musicians have taken on the name of the austrian composer, their repertoire extends far beyond the borders of Mozart, or for that matter classical music as a whole. Minister of Culture Susanne Schimek greeted the expectant crowd at their concert in the Minoritencloster. Gerald Pfister (trumpet), Karl Hemmelmayer (trumpet), Andreas Simbeni (Vienna horn), Rodrigo Mora Pinzón (trombone) and Franz Griesler (tuba) proceded to demonstrate the rich possibilities of their brass instruments. In addition to the outstanding ability of the musicians, one should point out that the choice of musical pieces was delightful. The evening began with Mozart and developed from there. Three movements from Mussorgsky`s “Pictures at an Exibition” were a particular joy for the educated public which expressed its understanding and appreciation by means of enthusiastic applause.
In the second half of the concert, the quintet continued to reveal its multifaceted ability by bringing.operette melodies, blues and ragtime. A Medley of songs from Bernstein`s “West Side Story” was particualarly impressive.
